The skies opened with a huge downpour and lots of lightning an hour before game time, delaying the game a little over an hour and a half. But in Florida, that kind of thing is normal (it was actually their fourth rain delay this home stand alone!) The evening turned nice and the game was played without further weather incidents. We saw Tim Lincecum pitch very well, one hitting the Marlins through 7 until giving up a 2 run home run in the 8th. After his exit the Marlins tried to mount a rally in the bottom of the ninth, but left the tying run in scoring position to the dismay of the Marlins faithful (all 7,000 of them).
We're ready to leave the beaches of Miami (which were awesome, by the way) and head a little bit northwest to Orlando for a couple days and a Tampa Bay Rays game. I'm looking forward to back-to-back covered stadiums in the two Orange Juice ballparks... enough with these rain delays!
